REGULAR / LOCAL TRAINING

Weekly training commences on Wednesdays from September to June each year. These programs are delivered by the local squadron staff and the senior cadets.

The local squadron staff are part time DND employees and volunteers tasked to deliver the Locally Directed Program (LDA). Our staff comes from all walks of life including teachers, aviation specialists, instructors, office workers, customer service representatives, university students...etc.

Besides weekly training, participation in selected weekend activities is expected to augment the weekly evening training.

For the 2023-2024 training year (dates subject to change, to be published under announcement page):

• Field Training Exercise (1 of 2 weekends)

  • Fri Oct 13 evening - Sun 15 afternoon

  • Fri May 24 evening - Sun 26 afternoon

• Optional: Health and Fitness Day (Sat 21 Oct)

• Gliding Day (1 of 2 days)

  • Sun 22 Oct

  • Sat 20 Apr

• Fall Tagging Weekend (2 half-day shifts)

  • TBD: Oct 20 or 27 weekend

• Poppying Campaign

  • Selected days: 3 Oct 3 - 11 Nov

• Remembrance Day Parade (11 Nov mid-day)

• Marksmanship Day (25 Nov)

• Optional: Treetop Trekking (Sun 21 Apr)

• Spring Tagging Weekend (2 half-day shifts)

  • Apr 26 - 28 weekend

• Award / Mess Dinner (Wed 29 May)

• Annual Ceremonial Parade (Sun 9 Jun)

• Optional: CAF Engagement Day / CFB Borden Airshow (Sun 16 Jun)
